A connected device is only useful while its connection works. That may sound obvious, but keeping a car, wearable or factory sensor online as it moves between places and networks is not always easy.
At MWC Shanghai 2026, TGT Technology presented its approach to this challenge. The company is bringing together cloud communications, edge AI, eSIM and satellite networks to make connectivity more flexible.
It was TGT’s first appearance at the event, which took place from 24 to 26 June.
In TGT’s system, the cloud handles large amounts of data and manages network resources. Some decisions, however, can be made closer to the connected device. This is where edge AI comes in. Instead of sending data far away to the cloud and waiting for an answer, a nearby system can respond faster. This means less delay and less strain on the network. It also lets businesses keep more control over sensitive data.
TGT says its AI agents can recognize different connectivity needs and dynamically optimize connectivity strategies.
The company is also combining different types of coverage. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work well for short-range connections, while 4G and 5G cover wider mobile areas. Satellite networks help out in remote spots where regular mobile signal doesn’t reach. One example might be a connected vehicle that moves beyond strong 5G coverage, or industrial equipment operating in a remote area. In cases like these, having a wider range of connectivity options could really come in handy. eSIM is an important part of this approach. TGT says its vSIM and eSIM platform already connects millions of devices, including smartphones, wearables, in-vehicle devices and industrial IoT gateways. The company’s portfolio also includes CloudSIM, SoftSIM and iSIM technologies.
This matters for AVASIM because it shows where the industry is going, and where AVASIM fits in. eSIM is becoming part of a bigger system that links cloud, AI, and satellite networks. TGT’s move shows the future of connectivity isn’t just selling SIM cards — it’s smarter device management too. That’s exactly the direction AVASIM is working toward.
